After doing a pretty big rearrangement of snow last week, it is completely gone again - excpet for little patches in the woods.
However, the sunrise this morning may mean that more snow is on the way. Those sailors sure knew how to read it "Red sky in the morning - sailors take warning." And my iphone weather app says snow for the next three days.
Hopefully that will mean a white Christmas here, which will look more like this.
The ice is still not in all the way, but that reflection of the sunrise was on a thin sheet of ice, not water, this morning. With all the fluctuations in the temperatures, the lake is freezing in quite beautiful patterns. Swirls and curls, especially around the warm springs. The ducks were still landing on the open water up until last week.
Gone are the days when we had an early freeze and could make a skating rink for the break between Christmas and New Years. And there certainly won't be any bonfires on the ice for New Year's Eve this year.
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season - white or green as it may be - and a happy and healthy 2013.
I will share more seasonal pics with you after we get some more white stuff.
